40.1!! 18 Aug '09

Ashlynn's temperature broke a record of 40.1 degrees celcius last night. She vomitted the whole of her dinner out. Her usual PD does not do consultation on tuesday evenings so we had no choice but to go to Kidslink at bedok. We went there once when she was a month old for eczema but didn't like the PD there.

PD checked her and concluded that the fever should not be due to the 18th mth jab as what we thought. Reason: It should not persist for so many days. It shouldn't rise so high. Her mouth and throat looked infected. As her temperature was soaring high, she was given a suppository. She cried so badly that I nearly cried with her. She was given 5 kinds of medicine. Scary. Cough and phlegm, running nose, vomitting, brufen, antibotics to fight the viral infection. The scariest thing is the PD mentioned that she will not rule out H1N1!! Chances that she might catch it from the polyclinic when she went for her vaccination. I will not dare to go the polyclinic again!!

We will monitor her for 1-2 more days. If her fever persist, they may check for H1N1 and administer Tamiflu. Omigod!! I have heard of the side effects of Tamiflu on children below six years old. I hope it is not this dreadful virus!!

Anyway, daddy is also down with flu and slight fever. So we left her at granny's place. I am on child mc, so I am going to fetch her soon so that granny can rest.

Get well soon my 2 darlings!!
