JWT Gym Trial Class - 13 Sep '08

Due to change of plans, we decided to bring ashlynn to join caden in the JWT Gym trial class. It was located at East Coast, pretty close to our place. We reached there to be received by the friendly staff. I will say that the place looks impressive. Very well equipped with activity stations that were colourful. There were 4 babies there for the trial class, including ashlynn and caden.

I can't really remember the sequence of activities, as there were too many and very fast. The class began with introduction of the babies. The trainer demonstrated some massage techniques. There was singing of songs and rattling of toys. The babies got to sit on a rocking toy, swayed on a gym ball, sat on a swing and even got to go on the "flying fox". They were also rolled on a huge cylindrical cushioned thingy. They got some hands on activities like playing with colourful balls and cloths.

Some differences between BJG and JWT Gym:
JWT Gym focused on physical activities while BJG had more mental activities.
JWT Gym definitely invested in more infrastructure.
BJG was more structured with the trainer leading the activities, while in JWT Gym, many activites were carried out on our own.

We went for lunch together after that and bid farewell from there.

Dinner was with ah ma and ah gong to celebrate ah gong's birthday. Ah ma and ah gong must be delighted to see that ashlynn does not cry now when carried by them.

Before the class. keke... mummy is actually a vainpot who likes to take photos. So I find all opportunities to pose with ashlynn.
The class started with some simple stretching exercises.

That's daddy's hands massaging ashlynn
Ashlynn on the rocking animal. Dunno what it is.

Mummy again! keke...

Daddy's turn to pose
Ashlynn wants to pose too!
Ashlynn wants to be a dancer. She can sit quite well. But can suddenly flop down without warning.

Caden on "flying fox". He definitely enjoy it more than ashlynn.

Timeout! Match-Making session with in-laws to-be. haha...
Erm... ashlynn seems more captivated by caden daddy?
Caden sayang ashlynn
Is that the way you reciprocate by pulling caden's hair?

Ashlynn doesn't really seem to enjoy the class. Maybe she was sleepy as she fell asleep during lunch. Or maybe she is not so much a "physical" baby?

Developmental Milestone - 10 Sep '08

Ashlynn showed signs of crawling on 10 Sep. On 11 Sep, she started crawling quite well. After a few attempts, she started crawling faster and faster. Well done girl! But it means more work for daddy and mummy now...

Family Outing - Sun 07 Sep '08

We brought Ashlynn to the Singapore Flyer on Sunday. Really enjoyed ourselves. We only paid $22 in all because teachers get to go on it for free! On top of that, daddy got a 25% discount and we received 2 mini mooncakes.

We popped by East Point to see the baby contest before going to the Singapore Flyer. The entire shopping mall was filled with baby girls. Initially we wanted to bring ashlynn to take part. But decided against it as it was quite early and it clashed with ashlynn's milk time.

After we alighted, we went to Popeyes for a snack. We tried the fries there. Not bad, quite yummy :)

Gathering - Sat 06 Sep '08

We brought Ashlynn to the Feb Mummies gathering which was held at Marche at Vivocity. We finally got to see the mummies and adorable babies after chatting online since we were pregnant. Again, Ashlynn was one of the smallest babies there.

After the gathering, we went to visit Wendi yiyi who just given birth to baby Renise. She is so small and sweet looking :) Ashlynn refused to drink milk at her place, causing us to lose face. haiz...

We went to Carrefour warehouse sale at Pandan Loop, wanting to get pampers for ashlynn. However, M size was sold out. We ended up buying Huggies Dry M size. We came home and realised it was a little small. So we gotta quickly finish using 2 big packs of 84 each.

Pics taken before going out.

Scary Incidents

As Ashylnn grows older, she is constantly coming up with new stunts. The latest stunt she pulled has really left us stunned and frightened. As usual, we put her in her favourite bouncer and went to unpack some stuff after our "outing". I could see her tossing about trying to sit up. Thinking that she was safely strapped up, we left her alone. Minutes later, we heard her screaming for help. I rushed to the living room and shocked to see her head down on the floor and legs kicking in the air, though her waist was still strapped on. She had toppled over in the midst of twisting her body around to look at us. I started crying and daddy rushed over to rescue her. Her face was all red due to "nao chong xue" I think, plus the screaming. She thought I was playing with her due to my weird expression and starting smiling. Silly baby... She has never been on the bouncer since then. Is it time to retire the dangerous bouncer?

Ashlynn was put the sleep in her cot in her own room on monday night. I woke up quite a few times to check on her. I felt that she was very poor thing to be left alone. But she has to start sleeping on her own somehow. Nearer the morning, this was what I saw.

No wonder I couldn't find this hand when I looked at her sleeping in the cot. I wonder if she will know how to take her hand out. I helped her to adjest herself though, cause I was worried she will go numb after sleeping in this position for too long.
