Mission Not Impossible! 26 Sep '10

I know it's kinda slow but finally I can announce that our little princess is toilet trained at 31 months plus!! We started the rigourous training of totally taking off her diapers and putting on panties for her 2 weeks ago. We had to keep bringing her to the toilet every hour or so as she refused to tell us. In school, she was also like this.

It took so long for her to be toilet trained as we were not confident to let her go diaperless. We kept on putting her on pull up pants. It didn't help as she can't feel the consequence when she peed in her pull up as compared to her panties. Actually it wasn't as hard as we thought. just that we were too lazy to go all way out.

These days, she will initiate to pee and poo. However, she refers pooing as pass urine or wee wee. There was once she told daddy she wanted to pass urine. So daddy told her to do it on the bathroom floor. In the end, she pooed a pile of shit on the bathroom floor. She looked pretty apologetic though.

Now that she is toilet trained, she will keep using excuses that she want to pee to leave the dinner table to go for a walk to the toilet. Sigh... During our buffet lunch at Melting Pot today, she requested to "pee" 4 times in a short one and a half hours.

We still have a few packs of L size pampers. Lucky we can keep them for didi to use. We also still put her on diapers at night.

My word of advice to mothers out there who are trying to toilet train your kids. Don't fret if your child is not ready yet. Ultimately they will learn it. And if you think they are ready to be trained, don't let them wear pull up. Must be panties or brief.

4 Months Old! 12 Sep '10

Our cutie turned 4 months on 12 Sep. We brought him to shave his hair (painful decision for me as I loved his hair. Too bad it was dropping and his head was getting patchy).

We had a mini kui chor ceremony for him. May he grow healthy and be a good boy.

Some resemblance to Ashlynn right?

Made with Love

Daddy helped Ashlynn to make this mickey mouse-shaped lantern to submit to school. He spent quite a few hours on it. After making it, he fell sick for a week. haha... Drained too much energy from him.

So professional looking, I feel :)

Fun at Resort World 05 - 06 Sep '10

I wanted to bring Ashlynn to watch the Barney show but after hearing about the Resort World package from Wendi, we decided to join them in this staycation instead of the Barney show.

We enjoyed ourselves in the nice Festive hotel which was suitable for kids and Ashlynn had lots of fun at Universal Studio. She is such a brave girl who is not afraid of the rides though it's her first time. She was also very brave while watching the Shrek 4D show where the seats can move and we had jets of water spraying on our face.

I am so hopeless in uploading the pics in blogspot. The order of the pics are in a mess.

At Universal Studio.

The Wongs (short of Master Wong) and the Kims
We were surprised that Ashlynn kept wearing her hat. We thought she will refuse to wear it. She also cooperated by going into the twin buggy whenever we wanted to move to the next location.

The must-take pic take at US.

In the room. There is a kiddo bed which they loved climbing up and down.
Our little girl loves swimming!

It has been ages since I posed with daddy
Now, I am looking forward to our Hong Kong trip at the end of the end. It will be the first time Ashlynn goes on the aeroplane. 3 more months to go!

Renise's 2nd Birthday

Brought Ashlynn to attend Renise's 2nd birthday. Daddy couldn't make it as he needed to work so I didn't bring Ashton along.

She ate the cream leaving the cake to me. Just nice, I don't like the cream. haha...

Happy Teachers' Day 01 Sep '10

Happy Teachers' Day to all my teacher friends!

This year, instead of receiving gifts from my students, I also prepared gifts for Ashlynn to bring to school to give to her class teachers. Being a teacher myself, it always cheers me up when I receive little tokens of appreciation from my students.
Having prepared the gifts for Ashlynn's teachers, I realised that she has a pretty good memory. I only told her once which colour flower is for which teacher and she could remember them almost instantly. The next day when we tested her again, she still gave the right answer. Well done, girl!

On Flipping and Thoughts 01 Sep '10

Was told by granny and helper that Ashton did the flip from his back to tummy twice. When I tried to make him do it again. he didn't.

Today, I put him on his tummy and he flipped onto his back quite effortlessly. So now waiting to see the flip from back to tummy (which is more gao nan du i think).

As a 2nd time mummy, I realised I am less concern over developmental milestones. I realised that whether fast or slow, they will come to master the skills ultimately. For Ashlynn, she started talking late which made us all worried, but she is talking quite well now, for my standard at least. To me, health is the most important key to happiness, especially after the hospitalisation incident.
