Moo Moo Time 29 Jun '10

I have been dilligently building up my stash. Not that I am going back to work already. But more of establishing supply so that I do not have to stress so much over my supply like the previous time.

So far, my supply is not a lot. But just enough for Ashton and some excess to freeze. Will start giving the frozen breastmilk when Ashton turns 2 month so that he can get used to the not so pleasant taste.

I kept on pestering daddy to bring us out on Sunday as I was so bored staying at home from Mon to Fri.

We decided to go to Marina Square to see if there was anything to get from John Little and Fox. We end up buying just a set of pj for Ashton.

Dinner was a disaster as Ashlynn refused to eat the chicken baked rice and Ashton was crying. We couldn't enjoy the food in peace as I have to coax Ashlynn to eat while daddy got to pacify Ashton. Really made me regret going out.

She lost some weight so she looked quite slim in the pic.
Posing outside the nursing room while waiting for our turn.
My face's so FAT!!! Arghh...

Thank You Dr Wong! 26 Jun '10

Special thanks to my gynae, Dr Joycelyn Wong who delivered our 2 darlings, Ashlynn and Ashton. Still amazed at how she rushed down to TMC within 5 min when the nurses called her to tell her that I was going to deliver Ashton anytime.
Parting shot with her when I went for my checkup and pap smear.

Shopping Trip with Lil Ashton 22 Jun '10

Daddy was on leave yesterday so we brought Ashton out. Ashlynn was not feeling well so she stayed around with grandparents.

We went Taka to shop around. Fed Ashton once at the nursing room and once at Coffee Club while having my dinner. We bought clothes for all of us. GUESS outfit for the little ones and ZARA for the two of us.

Had a great time chatting with daddy as usually both of us have to entertain Ashlynn. Not that we don't like her around. Just that I miss those times when we can sit down to talk about anything under the sun.

Visit to the PD 21 Jun '10

Brought the 2 kids to see the pd today. Ashlynn is running a high fever of 39.8 degree celcius, runny nose and cough. We suspected Ashton to have caught the cough from cheh cheh. Turned out that Ashlynn has a viral infection and Ashton is fine. His cough was probably due to reflux. Total damage was $160+!

Ashton was 4.29 kg last week and he weighed 4.62 kg today :)

Mummy's first time 19 Jun '10

Everytime when we bring lil Ashton out, we have to plan our trip such that we go to places with nursing rooms.

Yesterday we went out for father day's dinner at centrepoint and Ashton happened to ask for milk at the restaurant. Instead of searching for the nursing room, I was encouraged by family members to whip out my nursing shawl and nurse him there and then.

I'm glad I overcame the barrier and tried breastfeeding in public. But given a choice, of cause I will prefer the comfort of a nursing room.

First Outing with 2 ASH-es 13 Jun '10

Our first trip out with our 2 kiddos! It was a very short trip to Taka as daddy had something on and we had to rush home by 4pm. It was a rush as the whole trip went like this:
12 noon left home
12.10pm: tried to breastfeed Ashton on car
12.35pm: reached Taka but Ashton was not ready. Daddy brought Ashlynn up to Crystal Jade first. Told daddy to order food and start feeding Ashlynn if food arrived while I stayed on the car.
12.45pm: I joined them and food came shortly. Ashton slept throughout. Phew.
1.20pm: Finished lunch and going to start shopping. But Ashton started fussing and spitting out milk all over his clothes. Went to the nursery and realised he went his clothes as diaper was not put on properly. We changed him while he screamed his head off. Once done, Ashlynn refused to leave the nursery as she was happily seated on the baby chair. Luckily a lady told her daddy and mummy go first, u go home with Auntie then she quickly followed us. Shopped around the nursery department.
2pm: Ashton was hungry again!! Told daddy to bring Ashlynn to walk around while I went to the nursing room. Heard them talking and I called out to Ashlynn. She tried to figure her way through the curtains to find me and couldn't find me.
2.30pm: Continued shopping and I bought a pair of shorts as I still can't fit in my old shorts :(
3.20pm: Rushed like crazy back to the car.

Summary: So scary to bring two kids out. Couldn't shop in peace. While one constantly needs to be fed, the other is too active and impatient to wait. Nonetheless, mummy enjoys shopping too much and will not let these deter me :)

Look carefully. Ashton is wearing different clothes as he wet himself. Looks a bit girlish with the pink blanket. That's my breastfeeding cover. Not user friendly. I think I will still rather find a nursing room then to breastfeed anywhere with that cover. Still I will bring along with me for emergency.

Happy Full Month, Ashton! 12 Jun '10

Finally our boy is one month old and my confinement is over!! What I dread most about confinement is not able to things freely like household chores and going out. Always have to trouble Granny to help me wash things. So pai seh.

We had a simple celebration of inviting our friends and relatives over for a lunch buffet on Saturday. We ordered the baby boy full month package from Four Seasons at the Motherhood Fair at Expo. Thank you to everyone for your generous gifts and ang baos.

Ashton has his hair cut by famous hairstylist - Mdm Yeo (Granny). The scissors she used freaked me out! It looked like Ashton was going to have his ear cut any time.

Ashlynn was very well-behaved during the celebration.

Daddy fed milk while I do some catching up with friends

The lil star of the day
The setup was quite nice with a "rented" Mickey mouse which was collected back
Cute cupcakes included in the package!

Some vegetarian food as it was Chu 1
Happy One Month Old, Ashton!!

A Phonecall from School 08 Jun '10

When I saw ELFA's number appearing on my mobile, my heart skipped a beat. Did something happen to Ashlynn or is she not feeling well?

Turned out that the teacher has called to explain about an incident which happened yesterday.

During dinner, Ashlynn suddenly pointed to her eye and said her friend's name xx.
Me: What's wrong with xx's eye?
Ashlynn: Pain, cry
Me: Why? What happened?
Ashlynn: Ashlynn poke
Me: Ashlynn poked xx's eye and xx cry?
Ashlynn: Yes. Ashlynn cry.
Me: Teacher scold and Ashlynn cry?
Ashlynn: Yes

During her bedtime, she told granny the story again.

I was quite bothered that Ashlynn poked her friend's eye so I wrote in her communication book to check with her teacher. Hence the teacher is returning the call to explain what happened.

Turned out that they were playing and xx poked her eye. Both of them cried. haha...

Parent-Teacher Conference 5 Jun '10

Some pics which are provided by ELFA.

Went for Ashlynn's Parent-Teacher Conference today. Has been looking forward as this is the first time I am attending this kind of session as a PARENT! Now, I can truly understand the feelings of parents when they meet up with me to discuss about their children

Was pleasantly pleased to receive a portfolio and a compiled CD of her participating in school activities. The powerpoint slides were beautifully done by her teachers.

This is the remarks provided by the teachers.
"Ashlynn is a fast learner who can remember who she has learnt during lessons. She always focuses on what she does and is able to listen to the teachers instructions. Ashlynn has shown great improvement in her language and physical skills. Well done, Ashlynn!!"

I was also quite please to hear that she is quite cooperative in school as compared to the little tyrant at home. The only concern is she likes to keep food in her mouth, doesn't eat very well and sleeps less than others. She does very well in art activities. The teachers said that she can colour better than children of her age. One of the teachers even went to the cupboard to retrieve a piece of work which they thought it was beautifully done by Ashlynn.
Good job Ashlynn!
