Ashlynn likes fried stuffs 30 Jul '09

Daddy has been very busy at the beginning of the week so he did not get to see ashlynn for 2 days as he worked late. Yesterday we decided to try to come home earlier to bring her out for dinner. We went to sakae sushi at eastpoint.

As usual, I tried to feed her the rice from my sushi but she shook her head vigourously to indicate that she doesn't want. But later on I gave her a piece of carrot from my tempura veg and she munched on it happily, requesting for more. She also ate some chawanmushi, prefering the fried carrot though. I also gave her fried salmon and she took it happily.

So my conclusion is that she likes to eat fried food as she also enjoys chicken wings and french fries. Luckily she is considered quite slim, so can eat more. Just that it is not healthy. But as long as she eats, we are happy.

Family Outing to Wild Wild Wet 26 Jul '09

As Grandpa has some 1-1 promotion to Wild Wild Wet, we decided to bring Ashlynn there as we know that she loves playing with water. We end up only paying for 1 pax as Grandpa was considered senior citizen (he has some member card) and he can bring in one pax for free. So total = $15.50 for 4 persons. Haha...

Din manage to take pictures as daddy kept our bag in the locker. duh... Sob sob... Anyway, Ashlynn enjoyed herself. We could tell that she didn't want to leave the pool as she stayed away from the edge of the pool where granny was waiting. She squealed as daddy brought her to play the slide. There was once she slipped and fell flat on her back. Lucky I put on a life jacket for her so she floated on water. Apparently she was not afraid. In fact I was more shocked than her. Seeing that she enjoyed herself, granny said she will bring her there again since they have free entry and there was a direct bus from their home.

We thought Ashlynn will knock out upon reaching home. In the end, she only napped for less than an hour. Daddy and I were so tired but this girl of ours leave us no chance to rest. Sigh...

Sexy girl! The swimsuit is so adorable...

After the swim, we explored E-Hub.

Ashlynn's Vocab 26 Jul '09

Ashlynn has always been slower in her speech development compared to her peers. I attribute this to us talking little to her. Especially me, who is always busy with school work and housework.

We were even worried if she will speak at all initially. However over the past 2 months, she seemed to be picking up words quite easily.

Word she have said so far (not many but we are still glad):
bag, bear, bye, papa, mama, da de (daddy), ba be (baby), take, ye ye, nai nai, dog, milk, do-a (dora), bread, bird.

Looking forward to hear more from her golden mouth. We used to joke that there's gold in her mouth as she refused to speak when she was younger.

Her favourite Song

Her favourite song from the Channel 8 Chinese drama - The Ultimatum. She will dance whenever she hears the song. If we are on the car, she will wave her hands left and right if she hears it.

Vivocity 19 Jul '09

We had a great time at Vivocity on Sun. We went shopping after going to ah ma's place for lunch. She was very well-behaved (compared to usual) as she slept when we reached there. We shopped around in "peace". When she woke up, she also guai guai took her milk but didn't finish though. We went for a snack at BK and she finish a nugget. We bought a pairs of bottoms and a dress for her at GAP at only $50+. Very worth it as there was 50% + 10% additional discount. I was very satisfied with the purchase. I also bought a top from Warehouse at $39 which was originally priced at $109. Whoohoo!

I brought daddy to a nice and cosy dinner at the Greenhouse as he has not been there before. Ashlynn finished her porridge without spitting out any. It has been a long time since daddy and I did not have to rush through our dinner :)

It was a happy trip for all of us.

Dora Girl

Decided to turn Ashlynn to a Dora fan by dressing her in Dora pjs, gave her a Dora doll and water bottle and made her sit on the Dora mat. We had nothing better to do. This was taken when she just woke up, so her hair was still messy.

Grandpa's Birthday cum Ashlynn's 17th Month Celebration 15 Jul '09

Had a simple celebration of KFC home-delivery and cake-cutting at the grandparents' place. She enjoyed blowing out the candle so we lit it up a few times to let her blow it.

She gave shiok face upon trying the durian cake.

Shoppinggg! 12 Jul '09

We went dinner with granny and grandpa to celebrate grandpa's birthday. Ashlynn slept throughtout dinner so we had a "peaceful" dinner. After dinner, we shopped for awhile before she woke up. We went to Yoshinoya to feed her dinner while daddy grabbed a drink there. Very hard to feed her these days...

After that, we went to John Little to take a look at their clearance sale. Ashlynn seemed to enjoy looking at clothes and even know how to pick her preference.

Daddy let her try on the sunglasses. Usually, she will attempt to remove it. This time round, she actually wore it for quite awhile before she took it off.
Grumpy face
She spent the longest time at this rack.

She finally looked up at the camera.

New Term at LNT 11 Jul '09

As usual, our weekends are packed with activities. She attended her first lesson at LNT Tampines branch. I think she was not so used to the new environment and teacher, so she didn't really danced during the singing session, very unlike her usual self. Teacher-wise, I thought I still prefer the one at Parkway branch. But it's ok, I guess everyone just needs some warm-up :)
While Ashlynn was attending the lesson, daddy was sent off to do grocery shopping in order to save time.

After the class, we zoomed off to ah ma's place. We have told ah ma to cook some rice for her as we decided not to prepare her porridge. Ah ma made soup and steamed some fish and tofu with minced meat specially for her. In the end, she only ate a few mouthful. We had to topped up her dinner with a milk feed. Sigh... We stayed awhile, showered her and off we went to T3 to meet Wendi and family for a kopi session.

Ashlynn was pretty cooperative, seated and self-entertained during the meet-up, getting restless only towards the end as I think she was sleepy. So we bidded everyone farewell and even pre-dated them to visit the Jurong Birdpark/Zoo next weekend if we all can adjust our plans. Looking forward to that...

Taken at ah ma's house. She seemed to enjoy sitting in the bath tub to play.
Getting ready to go out. I asked her "You want to tie hair?" She nodded her hair and guai guai let me tie. Didn't pull it out also.

Pics from the Weekend 05 - 06 Jul '09

Just some random pics which I didn't get to upload over the weekend.

She enjoyed carrying the bag which daddy bought her.

Wow, fierce look.

She must be wondering why I kept on stalking her with a camera.

"Hey, stop it ok?"

Decided to escape from stalker.

Later in the night at Tampines 1.

Trying to coax her to do her "xiao xi xi".

Showing the edmame beans which she was eating. So uncouth of her. Taken at Akashi Restaurant at Vivocity. This was the first time I didn't prepare her porridge dinner as I was tired of throwing away the rejected food. So we decided to give her whatever we were eating. So she ate rice with salty miso soup (opps! never mind lah. jiu jiu yi ci. that's what daddy said), tofu, chawanmushi and some fish. She didn't eat much though.

What's so special about the next 2 pics? They were taken by Ashlynn. First one I guided her, second one was taken on her own, so it was off-focused. But still not too bad!

After Vivocity, we went to join my students in a bbq session. Only stayed for awhile as daddy was too shy to join in so he waited in the car.

Happy Youth Day 06 Jul '09

It started as an unpleasant day for all of us as Ashlynn refused to finish her brekkie, kept spitting out her cereal and dirtying her gai gai clothes. We were going to bring her for her 2nd peumoccocal jab at Dr Ong's. In the end, bad-tempered mummy gave her a huge scolding and spanking. Daddy kenna scolding too. Ashlynn cried so pitifully until the mucous also flowed out from her nose. Lucky she still wanted me to carry after her crying episode.

Our mood improved tremendously once we got on the car as we started chatting and getting her to identify objects. We shopped around while waiting for her turn. She cried abit during the jab, but definitely much better than when she was taking her MMR jab. Dr Ong asked how many teeth she had and I told him 16. He said "wow! 4 more to go". At the clinic, Ashlynn also played with 2 jie jies. They did not understand what Ashlynn was saying and even asked her "can you speak english?" haha... It was very comical to see how kids play and interact. They were also curious why Ashlynn had to see the doctor and kept asking Dr Ong what was wrong with Ashlynn.

After the jab, we went to the foodcourt to have our lunch. Lucky she was still quite cooperative in taking her porridge compared to the past few days. Today I added thinly sliced long beans for a change. After we all had our fill, we proceeded to our planned destination - Marina Barrage. She fell asleep on the car after missing her morning nap. When we got there, she was still sleeping. So daddy and I went around to take pictures. We were planning to let her play at the water playground there but it turned out to be more like a water feature rather than waterplay. So we decided to give it a miss. We found out that she woke up when we saw that her eyes were opened through her reflection in the lift. We went to explore the gallery which was quite an eye-opener. We enjoyed ourselves very much. Daddy was very proud as he was the one who suggested going there. Many times I rejected the place as I thought it was boring. I wanted to go there because I thought Ashlynn could play with water. Turned out it was an interesting place even without playing at the water playground.

How I wish we have more time to go for outings like this.

Vainpot mummy

Haha... She was still sleeping while we took this family shot.

Big-head shot

Scary pic

She simply refused to look into the camera.

Still not looking at the camera. Sigh...

The following pics were taken for fun at the gallery.
