X'mas 2009 25 Dec '09

Before we set off to Daddy's cousin's house for X'mas gathering. She enjoyed wearing the tiara clip and refused to take it down. We thought she looked quite sweet with it.

Bintan Trip 20 -21 Dec '09

Ashlynn and I tagged along along daddy's company retreat to Bintan. We had an enjoyable and relaxing time there. Ashlynn enjoyed the hotel stay very much, especially when she got to swim on both days we were there. Overall she was pretty cooperative except she rejected all the solid foods there. Luckily we brought along her Nestle cereals so she survived on that. I hope she starts eating more variety of foods before we start her on childcare in a few months time.

On the ferry to Bintan. She was very scared when the waves came and the ferry swayed.
She pretended to be sunbathing.
Enjoying herself in the pool.
Relaxing in the hotel room.
Swimming again on the next day. She wanted to help daddy to hold the towels.
Posing before we entered the water.
Munching on keropok

We went to the nearby market to shop around.
She enjoyed the company of Dior jie jie during the trip.

Doraemon 20 Dec '09

We decided to wear the T-shirts we bought from Taiwan. Ashlynn was so excited and was also enjoying taking pictures. She laughed hysterically each time the camera went "snap".

The pics are blurred as she was laughing and moving.

Got to hold her head so that she didn't move.

Shopping Spreeee! 19 Dec '09

We decided to pop by at the Carter's warehouse sale on Sat to take a look. Didn't expect to spend much. Moreover, we only had a short time as daddy had to rush back to office after that. When we reach there, we were quite surprised by how worthwhile to buy the clothes as they are mainly 3 for $10. To split things up, daddy browsed at didi's clothes while I brought Ashlynn to choose her clothes.

Our total damage: $104

Stressful Week 14 - 18 Dec '09

Why is it a stressful week for mummy? I will be on full day course from Wed to Fri and Granny
has went on a holiday. So Wed and Thur, Ashlynn will be taken care by daddy. Fri, she will be taken care by Ah ma. She has never been alone with Ah ma before. So that was my greatest worry. Moreover, Ashlynn is not an easy child to take care.

Mon & Tue:
Had to bring Ashlynn to Ah ma's place and stayed there for the entire day so that she can get used to the environment. It was quite fun for her as she had company. Ah ma is taking care of the boy. Prior to going over, Ashlynn and I went childcare centre viewing.

Wed:
I prepare the right quantity of cereal so daddy just had to add hot water and mix it for her breakfast. For lunch, I cooked porridge early in the morning and place it in the Tiger flask. For dinner, I ta bao cai fan and fish soup to share with her. However, on the first day with daddy, she developed a low grade fever. It might be due to too much sun as daddy brought her out to run some errands in the morning. It could also be due to lack of water. Daddy didn't realise that she had to drink that amount of water. It could also be she was already feeling heaty beforehand.

Thur:
Same thing I prepared her breakfast and lunch. For dinner, daddy was made to cook porridge. First time ever since Ashlynn started on solids. Well, he has no choice. Anyway, Ashlynn's fever has subsided (thank goodness) so we brought her to Tampines Mall at night. We went to Toys'US to buy some toys for her to play at Ah ma's house the next day.

Not forgetting to mention this. Daddy has some assistance Grandpa during the two days. But overall, I still think he did a fantastic job!

Fri:
I couldn't sleep well the night before. Kept thinking about how Ashlynn will react when we leave her at Ah ma's place. It ended up all my worries were unfounded. She bid us farewell and played with her toys happily. During my lunch break, I called to check on her, Ah ma told me to rest 100% assured that she is coping well. She had her breakfast and went to the market together. By the time I rushed back to see her, she was sleeping soundly and I was so glad that she bonded well with Ah ma. We went downstairs to have tze char for dinner and Ashlynn had rice and ingredients with us. After that, we went to fetch daddy to go to Isetan private sale. We bought mostly daddy and Ashlynn's stuff then it was very late already. As we drove down Orchard Road, Ashlynn admired the Christmas lightings. Once out of Orchard where there was no more decor, she fell asleep.

Now, we are looking forward to the Bintan trip with her on the following Mon and Tue. Thereafter, back to work I go. That's the end of my short holidays.

These pics are taken on Mon and Tue when we went over. I like this pic. She was so excited when they both got into the bath tub.

How the kissing started, do watch out the video which I will post up next :)

Our Little Monster 11 Dec '09

First day with her after I'm back from the trip. Still quite angelic. She loves the Dora slippers that we got her. She refused to take it off and even wore it to sleep.

So sweet...
Looking at the Dora book which we bought her
The second day... I took trouble to cook some dishes for her. To be eaten with porridge. Initially she didn't seem to like it. After I gave her my iPhone to distract her, she managed to eat more. I cooked tofu+chicken, spinach+carrot and fry a red grouper steak.
In the midst of my cooking, this was what she did. She practically turned the whole kitchen upside down. She even open her milk powder and scoop up to eat. Omigod!

Yesterday, granny told me that she yanked open a Nescafe 3-in-1 coffee powder packet and the powder landed all over her hair. Granny had to shower her to remover the coffee powder. Imagine the powder turning to coffee on her hair. She is really one mischievous girl.

Welcome to Taiwan! 05 - 09 Dec '09

Just came back from a 5-day 4-night trip to Taiwan. We didn't bring Ashlynn along as we decided that this will be our last couple trip (not sure if I mentioned this during our Hong Kong trip, but this is confirmed the last as we missed her so much this time round). Not much clothing to buy there as it is winter. We went sighseeing and the main thing on our itinery was to EAT, EAT and EAT! We made it a point to try out the foods recommended by friends and magazines. We returned to our hotel with stomachs filled to the brim as we visited the night markets everyday.

When we were there, many thoughts crossed our minds. What can Ashlynn eat there? Will we be able to cover that much on our itinery? Can she endure the 4-hour flight given that she is such a hyperactive girl who can't sit still? etc...

These are some of the photos taken from my camera. The rest of the photos are taken with daddy's camera. He has no time to download them as he is back to work today.
