Cradle Cap

Mummy spent a whole 1 hr tryng to peel off ashlynn's cradle cap. Quite an achievement. Her scalp is much cleaner now. want to post a picture of the flakes which i peeled out, but scared kena scolded by daddy.

Today i placed her on her tummy to sleep. she slept from 1+ till now, almost 3.40pm. and she is funny. look at how she turned herself.

Mummy hopes that ashlynn can be like this everyday. Very angelic.

I forgot to mention she was crying her head off this morning during her bath. The neighbours must have thought I am toturing my daughter.

Now waiting for daddy to pick us up to granny's place for curry fish head. Ashlynn will be camping overnight at granny's place as mummy has doctor's checkup early tomorrow morning.

More Updates

We brought Ashlynn to Expo last weekend to the baby fair. The place was super crowded with strollers and preggies. Saw 2 couples from our antenatal class. One of them had their baby with them and the other has not popped yet. Signed up for the Mother and Baby magazine and got 3 packs of Huggies pampers free. Also got a Combi cutlery set.

Went to Eatz Restaurant for dinner. Ashlynn was cooperative throughout dinner. She allowed Daddy and Mummy to finished the entire meal without having to carry her. However, she pooed in the restaurant. There was no changing facilities, so we decided to proceed to NTUC after the dinner. By the time we reached home, her poo has soaked through her pants. This is the second time her poo has soaked through her clothes.

By the way, Ashlynn's hair is dropping alot. She looks like a boy boy now.

Ashlynn looks like Mummy!

MyHeritage: Look-alike Meter - Genealogy research - Geneology

This is really fun. Mummy is surprised Ashlynn looks like me. Coz everyone who met ashlynn said that she looks like her daddy. Then again, it is dependent on the photos submitted. It so happened that in these photos, ashlynn doesn't look like daddy.

More Milk Issues

Mummy is about to give up on breastfeeding as I am not able to cope with taking care of Ashlynn, pumping milk, washing clothes, sterilising and washing, household chores etc. Moreover, supply continues to drop. Feeding formula milk is much faster and convenient. But daddy encourage mummy to continue and suggest that we get the medela PIS advanced. This is a dual electric pump and mummy can get almost the same quantity of milk in half the time compared to before. Moreover, the parts are much easier to clean and assemble. Mummy also got a easy expression bustier which allows to pump to be attached to the breasts and mummy can go hands-free! But heart pain coz it cost a good $679! There goes part of mummy's performance bonus... With this investment, perhaps mummy will be brave and try for no. 2 in a few years time. Heard that daddy? :)

Ashlynn's face is much better now. It turned out that she is suffering from eczema. We went to two PDs and finally the medication from the second PD is more effective. Baby's medical bills are so costly. Just a visit to the PD and getting a tube of cream plus cradle cap shampoo can cost $132. It is really not easy to raise a child. No wonder we get the baby bonus.

Will post more of ashlynn's pictures soon.

Ashlynn Went Camping

We brought ashlynn to the Takashimaya Baby Fair. This was the first time we are bringing her out shopping. Daddy and mummy were very excited. We put her on her stroller, put on her cap, took out her pacifier and hanky, made her comfortable. But to our dismay, she started wailing as we were about to enter. Mummy end up carrying her until she fell asleep then we put her onto the stroller again.

Grandma offered to take care of Ashlynn on Sunday night so that daddy and mummy can have a good rest. We sent ashlynn and all her barang barang over. There were just too many things we had to bring over. Her toiletries, food, clothes etc.. Ashlynn seems comfortable staying over.

Ashlynn's Full Month Celebration

Ashlynn celebrated her full month on 15 Mar. Daddy brought ashlynn to his office the day before. We also went over to grandma's place to deliver a few boxes of cakes for her neighbours. We ordered cupcakes for daddy's colleagues as well as our guests at her full month celebration. The cupcakes were very pretty.
We had lots of fun at the celebration. Thank you to all our relatives and friends who took time off to join us in the celebration. And thank you for the generous gifts and ang baos.

Coming to Full Month

It is going to be ashlynn's full month in a few days time. Mummy have not taken any pictures these few days. Ashlynn seems to have a breakout of pimples over her eyebrow area and daddy and mummy are worried. Also dunno why she is behaving extremely cranky these few afternoons. She seems to scare herself and starts to cry. When we carry her, she calms down and drifts to sleep. But when we put her down, her crying episodes starts again. Mummy is really worried. Is she colicky? Is she in not well? When mummy carry her and pacify her, sometimes she screams at the top of her lungs. When grandma carry her, she is better. This made mummy very upset.

Mummy has not been breastfeeding ashlynn these two days. We decided to feed her EBM to see how much she is drinking. When she is drinking from mummy's breast, we cannot determine if she has enough. But when it comes to night time, mummy went back to latch her on as mummy is too lazy to pump at night. So mummy also get to bond with ashlynn at night.

Ashlynn is also sleeping together with daddy and mummy on the bed these few nights. Daddy wants ashlynn to be near us. This is also easier for mummy to feed ashlynn. We end up suffering from stiff backs as ours is a queen size bed. It's kinda small to accomodate the three of us. Especially when daddy is so huge. haha...

Ashlynn Wants to Exercise!

Daddy help ashlynn put on the wrist rattles, hoping that she can exercise her arms. Seems like she is still too young for it...

Have not posted any pics of ashlynn wearing pink as she looks kinda dark in pink. However, that day she looked quite sweet in the pink top, so mummy took a few pics of her.

Home Alone!

In the morning, we went to the polyclinic for ashlynn's jaundice follow-up. Hooray! Her jaundice level has reached a safe level and ashlynn need not go back to have her blood taken again.
Grandma and grandpa went marketing, leaving daddy, mummy and ashlynn at home. We had much fun taking pics and this is the 1st time we got to take a family shot (although we are not nicely dressed up).

Who does Ashlynn look like? Most people say she looks like daddy.

Saturday with Daddy

Daddy was very free yesterday. So he fixed up the FisherPrice bouncer which we bought at Takashimaya. We let Ashlynn lie on it but realise that Ashlynn is still too young for it. Also tried to put Ashlynn in the Peg Perego P3 stroller. But the stroller is just too huge for her. She looks so uncomfortable in it. Finally we decided to let her try out the other Combi stroller. This time round, she laid there looking satisfied. So guess we have to stick to this stroller for the time being.

Mummy also sneaked out to Tampines Mall today to buy a bottle of fenugreek pills from GNC, hoping to boost her milk supply. Currently facing shortage from one breast, while the other breast is generating sufficient.

Ashlynn is 2 Weeks Old!

Mummy still has to wake up many many times in the night to feed Ashlynn. Ashlynn is very xiao jie. when she wakes up, she needs to have people by her side and even demands to be carried. I guess this is because she likes the attention she is getting from her loved ones.

Poor mummy is still struggling with her milk supply.

Here are some pics taken by daddy's professional camera this morning.

Prenatal Pics

By the way, these are some pics taken by daddy when mummy was 37 weeks pregnant. Mummy wanted to go to the have her prenatal pics taken at the studio but daddy claimed that he is professional enough. What do you think?

Photos taken off so as not to expose preggie mummy to her students who may "chance" upon this blog :)

Mummy
