Mini Outing with Ashlynn 11 Jun '09

I had to go back to office so I decided to bring Ashlynn along. As usual, she created a din when she was placed in the car seat. No choice, I had to give her the pacifier, otherwise she will cry her head off throughout the long journey.

To my pleasant surprise, many of my good friends from school were back to do work, so everyone had a fun time playing with her. They helped to look after her while I finished off some admin work. Ashlynn enjoyed the place a lot because it is now like a maze after the renovation. My P was walking around the staffroom and was surprised that I have a daughter. haha... He didn't know because he had not joined the school when I was pregnant and on ML. I stayed for awhile before we made our way home for her milk feed and nap. Lucky Cherlyn came along and kept her company on the long ride back home.

It was a nice experience bringing her to school minus the crying on the car.

Ashlynn sitting on Uncle Halil's shelf. His place was neat until she invaded into it.

Adding on to her Vocab 09 Jun '09

Ashlynn decided to talk more. I was wearing a doggy t-shirt, she actually pointed to the picture and said dog. I repeated dog and she echoed after me for a few times. After that, she even attempted to say dog dog (that is how I call it).

At the playground, she saw a little boy runnig around, she pointed at him and said gor gor. To confirm what I heard, I pointed at the boy and said gor gor? She repeated gor gor.

At night, we asked her to repeat what she said to daddy, but she refused. Hmm... so it all depends on her mood? Or it was a coincidence? Nevertheless, I am glad that I am the first person to hear these words :)

Lesson learnt: must spend more time with our little princess.

SAHM Days... 09 Jun '09

For these 2 days when I am at home, I brought Ashlynn to go gai gai in the evening before her dinner. On Mon, I brought her to Eastpoint. On Tue, I brought her to the playground.

I managed to capture a few shots of her enjoying herself at the playground so that I can mms daddy.
She loves to pick up litter from the ground and try to find a rubbish bin to throw it away. Very good citizen here.
I told her to smile for the camera and she decided to pose like this.
Pointing at the camera. A random shot I downloaded from the camera. She was trying out the outfit for the wedding dinner in case she outgrown the dress (from her birthday celebration). The cardigan is new but she didn't get a chance to wear it at the dinner because it wasn't very cold there.

Sunday 07 Jun '09

Was a busy Sunday for us. We went to ah ma's house for lunch. We took a train there as Grandpa took the car to attend cousin Weiling's tea ceremony. This was the first time we took the MRT as a family. Daddy ever brought Ashlynn on the train without me before. We timed the duration which she stayed seated. From Simei to Lavender. Thereafter, she started to be fidgety and wanted to walk around. Daddy didn't allow her to.

Lucky grandpa came to pick us up, so we didn't have to take the long journey back to simei. We went home to rest before preparing to go for the wedding dinner. After her dinner, we made our way to Sheraton Hotel where the wedding dinner was held. This was another first time for us, bringing our princess to a wedding. We were already mentally prepared that she could not sit through the 9 courses, so we took turns to bring her out for a breather now and then. Overall, I would think that she was pretty cooperative. I think she really enjoyed running around the carpeted ground and the big crowd.

Her favourite activity at ah ma's place - playing with clothes pegs

At Sheraton Hotel, this girl enjoyed sitting on the chair so much that she refused to budge and also didn't allow me to lift her onto my lap. Hence, she was covered in the picture.
We could tell that she really enjoyed sitting on the chair from the satisfied look

Some Updates... 07 Jun '09

It has been ages since I have really updated on Ashlynn's development. I would say that no major milestones since she started walking at 13 months.

These are the stuffs which she has been up to these days:

1) dance very well. she can change actions depending to the rhythm of the music. If it is a fast music, she will shake her butts fast. If it is a slow music, she will sway and wave her arms, etc... We can see that she is quite passionate about dancing. At least for now.

2) Enjoys eating chicken wings and fries like mummy. Will give the "good good" sign non-stop when she eats these foods.

3) Had her official "rice" meal last night. After her LNT lesson, we went for dinner at Ichiban Boshi. When we took out her porridge, we realised that it was overcooked and had turned so liquid that I think even Ashlynn was quite frustrated eating it. I decided to offer her some of my jap rice and she took it quite well. Since the porridge was almost in the liquid state, I poured it over the rice to act like a soup. She ate quite abit. Half a bowl or slightly less. We were not sure. But definitely more than what I had. She ate it with the fish and veg from the porridge. I also dished out tofu (without the salty miso soup) to add to her rice. I will brainstorm on cooking rice for her soon.

4) Can pretend-play quite well. She will open her desitin or aloe vera gel, use her finger to swipe the top and apply to her body and sometimes face. Very cute. She will also pretend to open a can drink and drink from it. After drinking, she will go "haaa....", like as if it is very shiok. Will also pretend to feed her soft-toys.

5) Can't speak very well yet, but can say a few words like pa, ma and bread. When I took out a slice of bread, she pointed at it and said bread.

6) Listens to instructions (when she is in a good mood). When I asked her to throw away her dirty diapers, she will throw it into the dustbin.

7) Loves opening the drawers in the house. The house is always a mess or things are found in the wrong drawers after her "game". Also loves to play with switches.

8) Still needs her pacifier to fall asleep. We are not intending to wean her off anytime soon.

I started my June holidays so I am hoping that I can teach her more things while I am at home.

Weekend 30 - 31 May '09

30 May Saturday
This is the second year Ashlynn joined in the celebration of my girlfriends. We met up at Cafe Cartel at Marina Square. We reached there quite late as daddy booked out from camp late. So it was just me who brought Ashlynn to LNT for her lesson that day. During dinner, she kept asking for our food, refusing to take her porridge. In the end, we had to give her some fries. I think it it really her favourite food of the moment as she made the "good good" finger-up with every bite she took. Very funny.

After dinner, we decided to come over to our place to laze around. Ashlynn was so excited to have many people over at out place. She was running around like a "da jie da", enjoying every moment of their company. She was still alert even at 11+pm.

Her hair is weird as she pulled out the rubber bands from her hair which I used to tie two ponytails.

31 May Sunday
Went to Han's for breakfast then followed by grocery shopping. I fed Ashlynn some eggs and found that the sides of her mouth developed redness again. Sigh... I guess must postpone her MMR jab again. After that we went home and I cooked Chicken with Tomato Sauce for Ashlynn. I don't think she liked it coz she gave a look when I let her taste the gravy.

In the evening, we went over to Tampines Mall and Tampines One. Had dinner at Swensons but our girl was so hyperactive, keep making a lot of noise. We had to give her some fries again to settle her down.

We shopped around and bought a cardigan for her as we are attending our cousin's wedding dinner next Sun. I also bought a pair of shorts from my favourite shop, Dorothy Perkins.

Our naughty darling girl... I had to sing her favourite song of the moment "If you are happy and you know it clap your hands..." to make her smile.
