Meeting with Mummy's Best Friend 07 Feb '09

Ashlynn finally get to meet up with Xueni yiyi after so many months. We met up for dim sum hi-tea buffet at Zhou's Kitchen at Anchorpoint. The food was quite nice and was very worth it. I think daddy and I are bound to grow horizontal with so many buffets in consecutive weeks plus the clearing of new year goodies at home.

I think Ashlynn was very tired as she fell asleep for almost an hour plus at the restaurant. As we didn't bring the stroller with us, I carried her and ate at the same time. Ashlynn received her very first birthday pressie from Xueni yiyi as she is not able to attend the birthday celebration next Sunday.

Did She Said That?? 06 Feb '09

We went over to granny's place to pick Ashlynn up after work last night. As usual, we hung around to chit chat about her day's happenings and watched tv. She was cruising around the coffee table and she started to do the "answering phone" action. We noticed that and acknowledged it by replying "halo halo" to her.

To our pleasant surprise, she replied "Heelo", rather sofly. All of us heard and got excited. We brushed it off thinking that it was just a coincidence. Within minutes, she gave out a loud and clear "Helo". Erm... Mummy did not hear the exact word but heard her said something though, as I was engrossed in Erbo going into labour on tv, thinking back about how I went into labour one year ago. haha... Daddy and granny heard it and they were so "high".

Since then, we have not heard the word again. When we tried to emphasised the word to her, she went "eeero" in a high pitch tone.

Ashlynn's First Lunar Birthday - 03 Feb '09

Happy Birthday darling! Ashlynn was born on 正月初九. So we celebrated her lunar birthday last night. Daddy had to attend a company dinner so we celebrated with granny and grandpa. Just a simple celebration with a birthday cake. I managed to find a Hello Kitty cake from a neighbourhood confectionery. She was so captivated by the cake that she dunked her little hands into the bed of cream a few times.

After the celebration, we got her to pick from these items: book, ruler, calculator and pen (got the idea from another mummy. hee..) The very first thing she went for it the calculator. But when we tried again, she chose the book. Anyway it was just for fun.

We also got her to pick four numbers. When she was younger, she was more cooperative. Last night she kept using her hands to sweep the rolled papers all over. But we finally coaxed her to pick up four numbers.

CNY Gathering - 31 Jan '09

We met up with our khakis for our reunion lunch, part of our tradition. And every year, we have new additions. This year we have Ashlynn and Renise. We had dim sum buffet at the Jade Restaurant in The Fullerton Hotel. It was very worth it for $33 per pax.

After gorging ourselves full, we went over to Carrin's place to nuah. Very happy that Ashlynn was well-behaved there and even willing to take a nap. She also stood unsupported for a record of a good 5 seconds (compared to previous 1 -2 seconds). She also was cooperative enough to finish her dinner there. After that we went to Fish & Co for dinner. While the rest went over to Wendi's place for mahjong session, the three of us went home as we were the only ones who don't know how to play. Moreover we needed to wake up early the next day as mummy's ex-students are coming over.

Jeslyn and Gerald joined us at Carrin's place as they were not able to make it for the reunion lunch. Very happy that they are tying the knot soon.

CNY Day 2 - 27 Jan '09

We went over to ah ma's house to 拜年. After that we rushed home as baby Zach was coming to our place. We hung around, chatted, fed the babies milk before we went to another family gathering. Mummy has fallen ill from all the bingeing of new year goodies and lack of rest. I am so worried as I kept on carrying Ashlynn. Hope I don't spread my cold bugs to her.

Ashlynn must be very tired after 2 days of visiting and her sleep routine has been badly affected. Her appetite has been poor and it was so difficult feeding her. Especially her morning and night feed. She is only drinking 100ml instead of her usual 180ml. Daddy and mummy can actually sense that she lost weight. Aiyoh, baby ah. People usually put on weight during the festive season. Why you lose weight wan...
