Mummy on Cloud9 :)

Yes! Ashlynn waved bye bye to me when I sent her to granny's place this morning.
Even if it is just a coincidence, I am still happy.

Easily contented Mummy

New Look! 10 Oct '08

After persuading daddy for a long time, he finally gave our bloggy a facelift. The new blogskin is mummy's favourite and ashlynn's soon-to-be cartoon character - Hello Kitty! Haha... Still remember those days when I was one of those who queued overnight to buy the Macdonald's Hello Kitty stuff toys.

Before i forget, I better blog this down. Ashlynn really made my day yesterday. She waved bye bye to me when I sent her over to granny's place in the morning. Hope she will do that later again.

We will not be bringing home tonight as we are celebrating Wendi's birthday straight after work. So we will only get to see her tomorrow morning to pick her up and bring her to the eastie playdate.

Sunday 05 Oct '08

Stayed at home the whole morning and afternoon as daddy went off to work. Taking care of ashlynn alone is really a handful. Really cannot leave her out of sight for even a while.

  • Put her on the bumper mat which is on the platform in our study room - she will attempt to plunge down.
  • Put her in the living room to roam about - she will go eat the carpet.
  • Put her in the BrightStar Bouncing Baby learning station - she will play for awhile and go ngek ngek ngek.
  • Put her on the mattress in the room - she will crawl to the bathroom area to eat the bathroom mat or play with wires.
  • Put her in the cot - she will try to pull herself to standing position.

She is so active that I think it is really hard for her to put on weight. People say that baby will lose their baby fats once they start crawling or walking. But our ashlynn got no fats to lose from the start. sob...

Daddy drove us to pick up her exploration station at Seng Kang in the evening and we had Mac for our dinner. Two weeks in a row we had fast food twice in a week. So unhealthy.

Naughty girl enjoying herself while mummy clowns around to keep her entertained.
She needs to use a teething toy to distract herself from the discomfort from her gums. Otherwise she keeps scratching her ears non-stop. And I really mean NON-STOP. Until my heart pain.
Levi's girl waiting to go out.
Quick pose before going to collect ashlynn's toy.
This was funny. She was watching tv when the song "tian xia de ma ma dou shi yi yang di wo~" then she became excited. She loves 1) babies and children ads (e.g Ribena, Huggies ads) or programs. 2) News. She always thought that newscaster is speaking to her and she will reciprocate by smiling back. Silly baby.
Bought a new playpen to put at granny's house to prevent ashlynn from roaming around when granny is busy. She seems to like it at first. But daddy told me that today she is starting to protest when put inside. opps. We wasted our $$?

Saturday at Home - 04 Oct '08

It's rare for us to be at home on a saturday as weekends are always bustling with activities for us. Daddy has some work to do finish up and mummy as usual has things to rush, so we decided to just nua at home.

We went out for breakfast and lunch though. We also paid a short visit to Great Grandma, who stays at Tampines, not too far away. Wanted to go either Parkway or Tampines Mall after visiting, but daddy is tired of these places. Also talked about bringing ashlynn to T3 for dinner, but we were just too lazy and tired to go out.
The silliest thing is that after we finished our dinner (we ordered 933 Golden Pillow), we realised we need to buy Sunday's breakfast. We can't go out for breakfast as sunday is our housechore day. And daddy has to rush to his work site by 12 noon. In the end, we still had to go to Eastpoint. We bought 2 dvds - Red Cliff (which I fell asleep not long into the show) and another lame movie which I can't remember the title.

Oh ya, must blog this down. Ashlynn has reached another MILESTONE. She can pull herself to stand in her cot!! She is also starting to crawl on her knees rather than the wriggly leopard crawl. Looking forward to witness her next milestone.

Taken at Great Grandma's house.
Ashlynn sharing an apple with mummy Ashlynn was grumpy on her new car seat. She cried when daddy put her down. Guess she was not used to it. Daddy was not so good at putting her down. Later on mummy tried and she was ok.
We decided to let her have a try on daddy's bike before we went home.
We took these pictures after she woke up from her nap. She was so cheery that we couldn't resist snapping away.

Ashlynn successfully pulled herself to stand. She did!
And I bought these colourful socks from Jshoppers spree. A lot right? I realised there was still another pair on my table when i took this pic. total 12 pairs!

Selamat Hari Raya! 01 Oct '08

We started the day with cycling at east coast park. Hmm.. It's a pity ashlynn didn't really enjoy it. We come to realise that ashlynn is not the adventurous sort. Like that time when she went on the "Flying Fox" at JWT, she also showed no signs of excitment while other babies are screaming away. I guess she prefers the aircon like mummy.

We had our breakfast at Mac, including ashlynn. I prepared her porridge and kept it in the Tiger food jar. It was the first time we used it. We estimated that it was able to keep the porridge warm for the most 3 -4 hours. Ashlynn ate a few spoonfuls and seemed to like it. I added tofu to the porridge for the first time and was glad she took it well. After a few mouthfuls, she decided that she didn't want to continue eating. She pretended to look here and there, but just simply avoided the direction of the spoon. Knowing her pattern, I knew she didn't want it anymore, so I didn't force her. We suspected that she was sleepy as she woke up very early and had not taken her post-shower nap. We let her sleep for awhile as we quickly finished our breakfast.

We made our way to the seaside and by then she woke up. We fed her the remaining porridge and went to rent the bikes. She was okay at the beginning, quietly seated in the baby seat. We tried to wear her cap for her, but she kept pulling it off till we gave up. It started drizzling abit and she oso became cranky, so we cut short the route and returned the bicycles. We then went to Parkway Parade for lunch before going to Kaki Bukit to buy a cover for her new Maxi Cosi Tobi car seat. Yes, she is going to upgrade to her front-facing car seat this weekend!

Went home after a long morning. We tried to put ashlynn to sleep as we were tired too. She took so long to fall asleep! She is getting hard to fall asleep these days though we can see that she is tired. She finally slept for awhile and when she woke up, it was time to feed her cereal. After that I showered and had to bathe her. We had to prepare for our special event. After a good one hour, we made our way out for dinner. Until then I was kept in suspense on where we were heading. Daddy drove and finally we reached Valley Point at River Valley Road. So the place he was bringing me was Dozo Japanese Fine Dining Restaurant. Well, food was good. We had a 7-course set dinner where we got to choose from a variety. Ambience was good. We were brought to their lounge for dessert which we all enjoyed. The only thing we didn't like was the service. The waiters and waitresses were really over-friendly. They kept disturbing us. And even called Ashlynn "Ah Boy"! We wanted to take a family pic and the waiter helped us. Guess what? He told ashlynn "Young man, look here". Daddy and mummy nearly fainted on the spot. After that, daddy told mummy to quickly help ashlynn put on her hairclip. haha....

Anyway, thank you daddy for the pleasant surprise. Ashlynn and I enjoyed ourselves :)

Ashlynn fell asleep after eating a bit of her porridge.
All ready!
