Ashlynn 2nd Birthday Celebration - 7 Feb '10

We had just our family and a few friends over for a small celebration for Ashlynn's 2nd Birthday.

We had it celebrated early this year as her actual day coincide with Chinese New Year. Below are a few shots from the celebration...

Cheering for her celebration to begin!!

Getting dolled up for the celebration, the hairband only got to stay for awhile.....

Barney is bigger than Ashlynn!! Hope she grows taller than Barney soon, haha....

Posing for pics while waiting for guests to arrive....

Her Barney's Theme Birthday Cake!!! Somehow, Barney turned out to be "Browny" on the cake.

Singing... " Happy Birthday to you... Happy Birthday to you.... Happy Birthday to Ashlynn.... Happy Birthday to you!!!"

Blowing her candles....
A proud mama and a happy gal... :)

Ashlynn busy cutting cake while we look at the camera

A family photo with 爷爷 and 奶奶...

Silly Ashlynn, she was so affected by others using Daddy's and Mummy's cameras to take photos that she started sobbing and demanded that the cameras to be returned...

Another family shot with 公公,婆婆,小舅,小舅girlfriend and Simin 姐姐... Missing 大舅 though....

Daddy's best friend - Weirong, Meiping & Baby Zac, who have given Ashlynn a very nice present...

Mummy's friends and hubbies and kids....

Ashlynn with all the kids....

A Big Thanks to all families members and friends for attending Ashlynn's birthday celebration and thanks again for the wonderful gifts!!!

Not sure if Ashlynn knows that the party is for her birthday but she definitely knows when is her time to blow her candles!! :D

Updates 11 Jan '10

1) Finally shortlisted the childcare centre for Ashlynn. We will be sending her to Elfa after much deliberation. Hopefully the care given is worth the high price we are going to pay for.

2) Ashlynn is speaking much more these days. We can communicate with her quite well and I think I enjoy this phase most since she was born. Over the weekend, I tried tying french plaits for her. Her hair is still quite short and very soft, so quite hard to neaten the plaits. But I'm pleased with this trial. Hopefully by CNY I can do it nicely.

3) I am getting lazier in cooking for her so these days we usually eat out. I tried giving her Jap food, yong tau foo with yellow noodles and Crystal Jade la mien with pork cutlet. I know it's not that healthy due to the sodium content etc. but once in awhile should be ok la.
4) Went for my detailed scan today. Everything was well except that the dunno what (medical term about the drainage of urine) seems prominent at 4.5mm instead of 4mm. Dr Wong says that she dismisses it as a problem and it is not much of a concern unless it gets as big as 6 to 8mm. It only happens in boys apparently. Also, the sonographers commented that the baby is hyperactive. Very hard for them to do the scanning as he kept moving non-stop. Dr Wong says it's a good sign and assured me that this has no link to ADHD when I raised my concern to her. Another concern from me was the baby is most likely going to be petite like Ashlynn. Told Dr Wong to project his birth weight. She estimated 2.9 to 3kg. Same as Ashlynn. Sigh... Was hoping the baby to hit 3+kg. Dr Wong said there will be a chance provided I put on more weight, at least 3 kg at the next visit. Although I have been putting on weight, it seems like my babies are simply genetically on the smaller side.
That's all for the updates for today!
