Nice hair?
Happily playing with my laptop

Engrossed with what is on the monitor

Looking at daddy

Act shy

Felt that she resembles mummy so much in this pic. Daddy also kinda agree.

This is baby mummy! Besides the hair, both faces are quite similar.

18th Month + Crossing the 10kg mark + 5-in-1 Booster Jab + Fever 15 Aug '09

We brought Ashlynn to the polyclinic to take her 5-in-1 booster jab today, exactly on her 18th month. She also had her assessment done with the doctor. She finally crossed the 10kg mark!!! She is 10.2 kg and 81.2 cm tall. Weight is in the 50th percentile and height is in the 75 percentile. At 18 months, she
  • speaks more than 3 words other than papa and mama
  • eats well (hard to feed her at times so we don't consider her as not eating well)
  • drinks milk
  • sleeps well
  • does not rub her eyes when she is not tired
  • responds to sound from sources which are out of her sight. e.g. telephone ringing, her name being called
  • picks up tiny objects with her fingers
  • stack cubes
  • point to her body parts without prompting
  • imitate mummy doing housework
  • walks steadily
  • happy and contented most of the time
  • not often irritable

The next appointment is when she is 3 years old. The nurse told us that she will receive a certificate after her 3rd year assessment. Daddy and I felt that the cert thing is a joke.

After we reached home and she had taken her lunch, she started to feel warm. But temperature was still within acceptable range, so we proceeded to bring her for her LNT lesson. We foresee that she might be send home if her temperature shoots up. Luckily it was 37.1 degree celcius when we reached there, so she went on with the lesson. Could tell that she was tired and not as energetic as usual.

After her lesson, we brought her to visit my grandma. She fell asleep before we reached. When she woke up to see so many unfamiliar faces, she went into a crying fit and was sobbing pitifully. We left shortly after. We had dinner at EastPoint instead of our intial plan of shopping at Tampines. Her voice is hoarse from the screaming and crying. And her temperature rose to 37.9 degree celcius.

What a way to celebrate her 18th month.

Fun Time at East Coast Park 09 Aug '09

We celebrated National Day at East Coast Park. The day started with breakfast at MacDonalds. Wanted to let her try hotcakes but she rejected. She took the hashbrown happily though. Before we reached MacDonalds, I asked her "Ashlynn, you wanna go MacDonalds?" Immediately, she did the eating french fries action. We tried several times and she did it. So she knows that MacDonalds is the place where she eats her favourite food.

We started off with cycling but she appeared to be quite scared. So we decided to find her place for her to play with the sand. She enjoyed playing with the sand very much. She played on her own for very long. Scooping the sand it the bucket, pour it out and fill it again. I told daddy that next time we can ask our friends for gathering at the beach since she can self-entertain.

It was time soon for her lunch so we rode back to the bicycle rental shop to return the bikes. It was a waste of $ to rent the bikes as she did not enjoy the ride. Next time we will just go to the beach when we visit East Coast Park.

Now she is taking her nap so I can quickly update the blog. We will be having Sakae Sushi for dinner. Will give the NDP parade on tv a miss as I never enjoy watching it (though daddy seems quite keen).

She is now on auto-gear. Will do this pose as soon as she sees the camera.

Some pics from my camera before the more professional pics from daddy's camera.
Look at her barang barang. Got this beach set for her yesterday from Giant. Good investment.

Sulky girl on the bike. We were quite surprised by her reaction. Prior to putting her on the bike, we asked her if she wanted to cycle, she responded by doing the cycling action excitedly.

Nice pics from daddy's camera. Ashlynn at MacDonalds.
She was in a cheerful mood. She kept both daddy and I entertained by her cute antics.

Stranded at the Playground 05 Aug '09

Today while we were going home, we realised we were locked out as we tried very hard to open the wooden door but in vain. End up calling for a locksmith who charged us $50 for hammering the door to release the catch that was stuck. Very ex!

It took the locksmith 45 min to come to our rescue. While waiting, we brought Ashlynn to the playground. Poor daddy even had to eat his packed dinner at the playground. It was quite late in the night already and people must be wondering why we were loitering at the playground with a toddler.

Lucky daddy was with us when this happened. Otherwise, I would have panicked.

Ashlynn's First Black Tee

I bought a personalised tee for Ashlynn from an internet spree. It's black in colour and this is her first black tee. I thought she looked quite nice in it. Never buy any black tops for her as I thought babies look dull in black. But now she's so grown up, so I thought it's time to dress her in mummy's favourite clothes colour.

P/S: Mummy's wardrobe is 80% black. haha... Daddy can't the difference in my clothes as he feels that all looks the same. So I always buy new clothes secretly without him noticing.

This is the tee. Very cute.

From Pretend to Real 01 Aug '09

She was pretending to cry at Swensons when she bent her head to low and hit her mouth against the table. Ended up crying for real. It was a funny sight.

Dinner at Swensons 01 Aug '09

After her lesson at LNT, Ashlynn refused to nap. I was worried that she will be cranky at dinner. I was right. As usual, she refused to eat her porridge. We had to follow granny's method to bribe her with pork floss. Still it did not work. Told daddy to take out his iPhone to let her play with the games which she enjoyed. She became engrossed with the games so much so that I fed her mouth after mouth quite easily.

Look at her many naughty expressions after she finished her porridge and started disturbing us.

Her latest pose. She doen't do the xiao xi xi. Instead she will tilt her head low to one side.
